In order to improve confidence, speed and efficiency, adult learners in the workforce and in education need repetition, progressive time restraints, and guiding mentors. My career experience has allowed me to build on this concept when training new employees and assisting adult learners.

Training employees in a retail print environment required more than just showing how the job is done. Associates also needed to learn how to work more rapidly without compromising quality.
Observations discovered:
• New employees became nervous in front of foreign equipment
• Trainees were afraid to fail, even with no stakes at hand
• Most people learned best by doing the tasks themselves, multiple times
